| (and many others) in detail. Everyone falls silent though at the mention of spending any more than several hundred bucks on the project. The truth is that a manual transmission that can handle 500 + ft-lbs torque costs a fair amount of money. Almost everyone that I've talked to wants a bandaid fix, like a T-56 because "if they put them in Vipers, they must be good." A T-56 can be built to handle more torque but then we are back at the beginning... spending money. Seriously, I don't think there is enough interested people willing to spend the money to make this happen. Richmond isn't going to do a "one-off" without covering their costs, and they aren't going to invest their money if the market isn't there to make a profit.
